This rainbow blocks enemy movement and allows allies to teleport between each end as long as it stands. Allies nearby either end of this rainbow gain an idol and the effects of Uenuku’s Refractive Light ability, refreshing the duration if it is already active - CAST TYPE: DURATION - ABILITY DURATION: 6/7/8/9/10 SECONDS - AURA RANGE: 55 UNITS - EXPLOSION RADIUS: 10 UNIT AREA - EXPLOSION DAMAGE: 10% OF ALLY’S BASIC ATTACK DAMAGE - REDUCED DAMAGE DEALT: 10% Lore & Design Uenuku is a war god represented as a rainbow. His spirit is said to have been carried by the Tainui Maori in a stone to New Zealand, where they placed it into a carving which now symbolizes Uenuku as an atua (Te Uenuku). Any war parties that marched under a rainbow were given an omen that they would be defeated in battle. If they travel along either side, however, they would be victorious. There were several tribes that invoked wooden idols of Uenuku to take into battle and guard them. Uenuku was born a human Maori, a chief of his tribe. He is an important ancestor of many modern tribes, fathering 70 or more sons and thus claiming generations of tribal warriors. He ascended to godhood in an infamous story involving his wife. She was Hinepūkohurangi, the Mist Maid, and she married Uenuku under the condition that she would have to leave him at dawn every day. He desperately tries to prove to his tribesmen that his wife is real and ends up blocking the windows to keep the morning light out, forcing her to sleep longer and betraying her wishes. Because of this, Hinepūkohurangi leaves Uenuku permanently. This causes him to wander the earth in search of her until the sky father, Ranginui, transforms him into a rainbow so that he may stay with his wife in the sky forever. Uenuku’s design represents a Maori chief. His Basic Attacks are emissions of light that travel forward and pass through enemies. The AoE’s added by his Refractive Light ability have a slight rainbow color and create an explosion similar to Freya’s AoE ability. His unique symbol, the carving of Uenuku, is used to show his passive stacks. The four spikes and 3 gaps between them on this symbol are said to represent the colors of the rainbow. Each stack of Uenuku’s passive will add a glowing effect in each space and the whole symbol glows at max stacks. submitted by _____CunningLinguist to Smite [link] [comments] |
2023.03.28 14:52 xenizondich23 Xeni’s Bingo Wrap-up - Hard Mode Card with mini reviews and some stats
Yet another bingo review thread! This is my 3rd year doing bingo and I’m still a fan. I was going strong until October, when my computer died and with it all my bingo spreadsheets and data. I gave up on completing my card(s). Until February, when my computer was fixed and I recovered my file. I’d missed out on a good 4-5 months of reading (I think I read 2 books in that entire time period due to other issues in life) and I had a lot to catch up on.
I started out February with 11 squares to fill in on the two cards I set out to complete (disability-themed card and all-HM card). Over the course of the month I read 9 of those books but decided to replace a couple of others and entered March with 8 books left to read to complete my two cards. Thank goddess for audiobooks, because I don’t think I could have finished all of them otherwise!
Finished Card
All Hard Mode Card; my other card:
disability card thread Some Stats
- On average it took me 20 days to finish reading a book. The longest was Crucible (Valdemar short story collection) because short stories are the bane of my bingo reading. That one took me 162 days. Fastest was VenCo by Cherie Dimaline in 1.5 days. It was an audiobook and great fun to listen to.
- The bingo books were on average 380 pages long, with the longest being Unconquerable Sun by Kate Elliott (though it didn’t feel like it).
- I listened to a total of 7 audiobooks and read 18 as ebooks.
- On average the books were published in 2016 with the oldest being The Blue Sword (1982). I read 7 books from 2022 (8 if we count 2023 too), which is incredibly recent for me. My reading tends to average 5-8 years out of date.
- 11 were standalone books and 12 were the first of a series. Of these I plan to (or have) continue(d) reading 7 series. I read the rest of the Book of the Ancestor but I’m not sure I’ll continue the rest of the books in the world.
- 18 were new to me authors. The newest author I found hardest to put down were the Murderbot books by Martha Wells (not on this card).
- The broad genre breakdown this year was 18 fantasy books, 3 sci-fi books and 4 books that fit into both categories / overlapped. This is my usual reading style (heavily fantasy). My disability card ending up with a lot more SF which goes to show fantasy needs more disabled protagonists!
- I rated the books an average of 3.8 stars overall. This is a less than last year and around my average goodreads score (3.7). I had to force myself to read certain books for particular squares and ended up trying 5 or 6 before settling on one I could at least finish (even if I didn’t like it).
- Strongest Bingo Month: February. I finished nothing in January, read really sporadically in the 4 months before that. In Feb I decided to tackle finishing my two cards and ended up finishing 12 books that month.
- Close seconds with 11 were April (but that makes sense, eh? We’re all super motivated first bingo month) and March (last month cram sesh!)

LGBTQIA List (HM: Book / series with 10 votes or less) -
Witchmark by C. L. Polk - 3/5
- This is an interesting story, a great world to explore (I love that bicycles are the main form of transport), and a post-war hospital all wrapped up in a larger conspiracy plot. The magic was fun, the weird illness something rarely seen in fantasy. However the romance plot felt rushed and not great. The story dragged at times, then rushed at the end. But I think I’ll read the sequel sometime.
- I recommend this book: if you like early 1900’s secondary world fantasy, high-speed bicycle chases, romance with the fae, or doctor protagonists
Weird Ecology (HM: Not written by Jeff VanderMeer or China Miéville.) -
Red Sister by Mark Lawrence - 4/5
- I loved the world, but I thought Nona as a protagonist was more of a cliché than I wanted. She embodies the Strong Female Protagonist and the Chosen One tropes a bit too much. A lot of this book felt more like an anime than I like (esp. any fight scenes). At least it’s easy to read.
- I recommend this book: if you like school settings and training, living in a post-apocalyptic world, political elements (more the whole series), anime
Two or More Authors (HM: 3+ authors) -
Clockwork Cairo by Various - 3/5
- This was an interesting collection. There was one story I absolutely loved (Thermodynamics; and/or The Remittance Men by Chaz Brenchley) but most of the stories felt unfinished or incomplete. I normally don’t like short stories and this collection was less great than I was hoping. There were quite a few steampunk elements, at least, not to mention more characters with disabilities than you normally see!
- I recommend this book for: fans of steampunk, short stories, bizarre things, Everfair (there’s a short story in here set after the main novel)
Historical SFF (HM: Not based in Britain or Ireland.) -
Bee Sting Cake by Victoria Goddard - 5/5
- This second novel in the Greenwing and Dart series I enjoyed far more than the first. It took me a while to realize bee-sting cake refers to Bienenstich, which is a cake my mom often made. I don’t like it. The book makes it sound more delicious than it actually is. Anyway, the plot is bananas, as is usual for these books. There’s a dragon, bees, a mysterious riddle and Jemis discovers even more about this family. These are just very fun stories. I also love the location of Bella Ragnor (and surrounding land); it feels like a pastoral rolling-hills perfect Medieval TM fantasy place.
- I recommend this book: if you like dragons, bees, mysteries, fun adventure romps, and cake.
Set in Space (HM: Characters are not originally from Earth.) -
Unconquerable Sun by Kate Elliott - 5/5
- I hadn’t planned to read this one anytime soon, but it’s Kate Elliott so I knew I would at some point. I’m so glad I did! This is one of the best books I read this year. Most of the story actually revolves around Persephone Lee, rather than Princess Sun, which was a minor disappointment. Perse is just not that interesting (she feels very normal) as Sun (who feels like Miles Vorkosagian). The plot is straightforward, and then takes a left turn into a wild adventure chase and then into a space battle. The world is great - dinos just live wild! American Idol for the entire universe! Giant sea monsters! Big space battles! I can’t wait for the sequel.
- I recommend this book for: those who like books set in space, adventure tales, royalty, music competitions, politics-and-strategy trumping flying-by-the-seat-of-your-pants plots.
Standalone (HM: Not on
Fantasy’s Favorite Standalones List.) -
Pandora by Susan Stokes-Chapman - 4/5
- I read a handful of standalones this year but they ended up being used in other squares. So I had to scramble to find something fairly last minute. This is tangentially part of a slew of books published in the last 2 years that reference Greek mythology, however this one is set in Georgian London and features a jewelry-crafter, a bookbinder who’d rather be an archeologist, a magpie as a pet, and a mysteriously powerful vase that may have been the original Pandora’s box. I enjoyed the book but at times wished for a bit more.
- I recommend this book for those who like: archeology, crafts, mysteries, high-society and low-society London, curses
Anti-Hero (HM: YA book) -
HIVE - Higher Institute of Villainous Education by Mark Walden - 4/5
- I’m glad I finally found this book for the square, mostly because it was a fun and quirky read. The MC is a genius who used his intelligence for one plot too many. He gets the attention of the villain school, is promptly kidnapped and finds himself flying into a volcano. Where the school resides. In the school everyone is given a PDA with AI (this is written pre-smartphone era which is great), a tour of the facilities, and then their education as future world-ruling villains begins. It’s not a book to take seriously. The MC has a great voice. There’s lots of plot shenanigans and it’s a bit of a fun and wild ride.
- I recommend this book for: if you like evil genius protagonists, schools that hold you hostage, Audrey II, pre-smartphone era ideas of high-tech
Book Club OR Readalong (HM: Participate in current discussion) -
Kaikeyi by Vaishnavi Patel - 5/5
- I enjoyed this book from the beginning. It had me hooked right off the bat. I love the Indian-inspired secondary world. Kaikeyi is one of my favorite kinds of protagonists: willing to try, willing to strive for better but also realizing not everyone can, manipulative when she needs to be, ultimately kind and good. The ending did not sit as well with me as the beginning, but I still recommend it. It’s a pretty good retelling.
- I recommend this book for those who like: India-inspired settings, strong women who are willing to do good and bad things to get what they want, powerful gods, mythic retellings
Cool Weapon (HM: Weapon has a unique name.) -
The Blue Sword by Robin McKinley - 5/5
- This was a reread for me, together with one of the book clubs. It’s been a good long while since I first read it and I honestly remembered so little. Even though I think McKinley could have written some bits better, the story, the world, the desert nomads all captured my heart again. I like that Gonturan is used for more than killing a dragon here. It’s a great read together with The Hero and the Crown.
- I recommend this book for those who like: desert tribes, magical swords, classic fantasy
Revolutions and Rebellions (HM: It is the main focus of the plot.) -
Darknet by Matthew Mather - 3/5
- I had high hopes for this story: AI that gains enough intelligence to warp the world around it to protect itself: spoofing voices in phone calls, creating security camera footage that doesn’t exist, convincing entire governments of terrorists that aren’t. It’s spooky and great. Except this book did not live up to. The ending is super mundane and fairly disappointing. The plot to get there was straightforward and boring. The characters bland. I was disappointed by the end for a book that promised an overthrow of AI.
- I recommend this book for those who like: AI going on a rampage, straightforward books, if-the-government-is-a-bad-guy-who-can-survive-protesting-it?
Name in the Title (HM: Character’s first and last name.) -
How Rory Thorne Destroyed the Multiverse by K Eason - 4/5
- I felt this did not live up to its title. Spoiler: Rory does not destroy a multiverse. Most of this book is Rory as a hostage princess trying to get out of being a hostage. It felt like it dragged on for a long time even though it was a quick read. The characters stayed mostly superficial but the plot moved fast.
- I recommend this book for those who like: space stories with fairytale influences, coming-of-age tales of strong princesses, lost princes
Author Uses Initials (HM: Initials are a pseudonym and not from the author’s actual name.) -
Nettle & Bone by T. Kingfisher - 3/5
- I only read a T Kingfisher book because for months on end I’ve been trying to find someone who fits this square and isn’t T Kingfisher or K J Parker. Alas, I was unsuccessful, so here I am. Disappointed once again. This was my 5th Kingfisher, I believe, and while it was better than a lot of the others it sapped the magic out faster than it could supply it. The story is incredibly straightforward. The characters are very boring (the sequel better be the two old women just living together solving magical hijinks because those two carried this entire novel). The world is even more Basic Medieval Fantasy fare. There’s probably one T Kingfisher I’ll still read and then I’ll call it a day.
- I recommend this book for those who like: T Kingfisher; straight-forward books; books that feel like fairytales but aren’t; long dead, screeching ghosts who still want to get their way
Published in 2022 (HM: Debut novel) -
The House Witch by Delemhach - 3/5
- I had high hopes for this book. I loved the premise. Kitchen witchery is my second favorite kind of witchery. And the beginning of this book was great!! A magical cat, lots of sneakily using magic to cook and clean dishes. And then the most boring romance ever was introduced. We see even more of Fin not understanding rank and not getting his head chopped off for it (“look, it’s a fun quirk!” seems to be the general reaction expected of the reader). Overall I was whelmed. I won’t keep reading the series.
- I recommend this book for those who like: kitchen witches, elemental magic, cozy fantasy, straight forward tales
Urban Fantasy (HM: LGBTQ+ POV character.) -
Drop Dead Gorgeous by Maya Mistful - 4/5
- I managed to miss out on a lot of the biggest fanfics of the HP world back in the day. Early in the year I decided to begin to fix that. This is one of them: a very fun fic in which Harry is the one with veela blood. He and Draco are teamed up to work as aurors and plenty of hijinks ensue. It’s a fun tale that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
- I recommend this book for those who like: Drarry slashfic, post-Hogwarts tales that pretend the epilogue never happened, actual police investigation
Set in Africa (HM: Author is of African heritage.) -
Last Gate of the Emperor by Kwame Mbalia - 2/5
- I was hoping for a better book for this square. I kept looking and hunting down book after book. Kept thinking I found it, and it’d be another full of far too much violence. Eventually I started looking at MG books to find one with less violence and came across this great-seeming Ethiopian inspired futuristic world. It feels a lot like Ready Player One on the box but inside it’s quite different. I loved the Ethiopian cultural bits! But I could not stand the main character (he’s too dumb to exist, seriously), or a lot of the plot decisions the author made.
- I recommend this book for those who like: Ethiopia, thought Ready Player One was a great premise, like their protagonist dumber than themselves so you can yell at them lots
Non-Human Protagonist (HM: Non-humanoid protagonist.) -
The Raven Tower by Ann Leckie - 5/5
- After years of being recommended this book I took the dive. I listened to it on audiobook which was both a blessing and a curse. It helped move pass the parts that really dragged, but also the narrators voice was so incredibly grating (like stone, hah!) at times, that I really had difficulty finishing. But I did enjoy the story. Having a giant rock inhabited by a god makes for an interesting main character and those parts were by far the most interesting to read. The ending was a wallop for sure.
- I recommend this book for those who like: stories about gods, trade routes, murder mysteries, and fealty
Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey (HM: No time travel) -
Murder at Spindle Manor by Morgan Stang - 4/5
- On the surface this book is a locked room murder mystery. But underneath is so much more. It’s clearly the first of a series, introducing us to our monster hunter, Isabeau, and her sidekick. They’re spending the night at Spindle Manor to wait out a storm while hunting a peculiar monster that can assume any shape it wants. While there we’re introduced to a very colorful cast of characters who all end up dying mysteriously one after another. Isabeau needs to find the murderer before the night ends. There are ghosts, giant hybrid monster creatures, weird time shenanigans, and an interesting set up for the rest of this world.
- I recommend this book for those who like: gaslamp / steampunk worlds, magical monsters and creatures, murder mysteries, Agatha Christie-esque cliques of suspects
Five Short Stories (HM: Anthology or collection) -
Crucible by Mercedes Lackey, etc - 3/5
- I like reading some Valdemar every year, and it’s easy enough with the short story collections. I’m not a big fan of short stories, but at least these tend to connect across anthologies or refer to other characters from the world. I’d already read the Lackey story in here elsewhere, however, and a lot of the others felt familiar or lackluster so altogether I was not feeling this edition much.
- I should read this if you like: Valdemar (really, that’s it)
Features Mental Health (HM: Not The Stormlight Archive or any books in the linked list.) -
Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir - 5/5
- I finally picked up the Locked Tomb this year and I’m so glad I did. I was not sure it would be for me (reviews are so polarizing!) but I just loved the weirdness of it all. I listened to the audiobook, which has a fantastic narrator. Highly recommend it. I won’t go into detail here except to say I can’t wait to continue with Harrow for next bingo. I know it’s going to be even weirder and I’m ready!
- I recommend this book for those who like: weird shit, lots of dramatic necromantic-gothic vibes, people who will do anything to get ahead but then also have a soft spot somewhere deep down inside, more dramatic clothing and make-up choices than should be allowed
Self-Published or Indie Publisher (HM: Self-published and has < 100 ratings on Goodreads, or an indie publisher that has done an AMA with
Fantasy.) -
Some By Virtue Fall by Alexandra Rowland - 3/5
- I wanted to read more Rowland this year but they are taking their time with publishing! All fair, but it means I need to scrounge up some back-logs now. This is set in the same world as The Chants but this story is all about a theater troupe and their love lives and trying to put on a play. It’s fun, quirky, but a bit too short for my tastes.
- I recommend this book for you if you were a theater kid, if you wanted to be a theater kid, if you always saw the theater kids being goofy and thought “what are they even getting up to in there”
Award Finalist, but Not Won (HM: Neither Hugo-nominated nor Nebula-nominated) -
All the Murmuring Bones by Angela G. Slatter - 4/5
- I joined the book club read on this one. I loved the beginning a lot! So much creepy gothic old crumbling mansion horror vibes in here. It is seriously amazing. I wish the story had stayed there, though. Instead it branched out into a classic fairytale-esque adventure tale. I also liked those parts well enough, but none of it had the depth or atmosphere to really work together as a cohesive whole.
- I recommend this book for those who like: fairy tales, gothic horror atmosphere without the pain, getting revenge on the people who hurt you, mermaids
BIPOC Author (HM: A book written by an Indigenous author.) -
VenCo by Cherie Dimaline - 5/5
- I was really happy to find this book. It was published quite recently so I really lucked out. I did not like a lot of the suggestions I found for this square elsewhere, but this book was perfect! The story revolves around the North American witch coven trying to reassemble after centuries of being hunted. How do members identify each other? Through magic spoons! I loved that this story focused on so many diverse women at different stages of their lives and from various areas of the continent. I can’t wait for the sequel. This was one of my favorite reads this year.
- I recommend this book for those who like: scavenger hunts for old spoons, witch covens, road trips throughout NA, old women living their best lives
Shapeshifters (HM: Most prominent shifter is not a wolf/dog shifter.) -
Kill the Queen by Jennifer Estep - 3/5
- I picked this one up on a whim while looking up tales of women taking revenge on those who slight them. This story starts out weak: the mc is a sad little princess living on the fringes of royal life before her cousin murders her entire extended family at a family gathering. She barely escapes and then ends up joining a gladiator-troupe. One of the main members of the troupe is a troll-shapeshifting woman (and boy is that dramatic when we finally see it). The princess learns how to fight and eventually considers the revenge. The story in general was a bit too YA at times for me to really enjoy it.
- I recommend this book for those who like: gladiator fights, family massacre scenes, taking (bloody) revenge on those who wronged you, you always wanted to run away from home and join a circus troupe
No Ifs, Ands, or Buts (HM: Title is three + words) -
Three Parts Dead by Max Gladstone - 4/5
- Another one I have been eyeing for a while but never actually go around to reading. I ended up really enjoying the creative world building in this book. The combination of the judiciary with religion and magic is bizarre yet works incredibly well. The rest of the story was a bit boring. I liked the gargoyle element the most, but it was an incredibly minor point after the beginning. I think I’ll continue reading this serious, though, since I did enjoy the world a lot.
- I recommend this book for those who like: law, thinking lawyers need more power than they already have, non-conventional magic, gods who have personalities and make contracts
Family Matters (HM: Features at least 3 generations in a single family.) -
A Strange and Stubborn Endurance by Foz Meadows - 4/5
- Another book club read this year that I was happy I joined! I’d been meaning to read something by Foz Meadows for a while, so I’m glad I finally did. This book was really interesting. It reminds me a lot of similar books I’d read this year (A Taste of Gold and Iron, Prince and Assassin, another I can’t remember), but this plot really goes bananas. The setting was scant, the plot moved too fast but the romance between the leads was sweet and the story was an easy read. The family elements in this book were quite strong, with the grandmother on down being heavily involved in the story. I did really like how the family moments were done.
- I recommend this book for those who like: queer romances, plots that don’t really care if you think they’re insane, strong family ties
Conclusions
My
favorite books this card were: Unconquerable Sun by Kate Elliott, VenCo by Cherie Dimaline, and Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir.
I found the
Set in Africa square to be the hardest to fulfill HM for. It’s the last book I read. I found most of the books that fit this square to be dark, brutal, or too grim for my tastes. I was disappointed over and over again by all the suggestions I found. It should not be this hard to find a SpecFic book set in Africa, written by a person of African heritage that is not full of extreme violence! (I think it’s pretty sad, yet understandable, that most of them include so much intense violence). I ended up going to middle grade fiction to find a book I could finish.
Other squares I found more difficult:
Cool Weapon (it seems magical named weapons crop up most often in epic high fantasy, a sub-genre I don’t enjoy reading much anymore),
LGBTQIA List (I’ve read a ton on this list already! It needs an update badly), and
Author Uses Initials (I dislike both of the authors that have pseudonyms with initials and couldn’t find any other though I searched up and down).
On a side note I want to express my annoyance with the
BPIOC HM square (indigenous author). I spent a lot of time this last year trying to figure out who is an indigenous person. It seems there’s a lot of different definitions and I don’t understand which one to use. On the one hand this includes the native people who were conquered by white folk, but that doesn’t cover everyone and leaves certain groups out. The UN says indigenous people need to be accepted by their community as one of their points, however Rebecca Roanhorse is not accepted by the NA tribe she says she is a part of and everyone seems to be fine using her books. I was going to use an author from India, but for some reason (even though they were conquered by the British and could trace their roots thousands of years in the subcontinent) they don’t count as indigenous people. I found this a very confusing square to know what to do with.
The easiest squares by far were
Historical and Urban Fantasy. I don’t seek out these stories but there are a lot that incidentally fall into these categories. Same with the Mental Health square - so many books just happened to fit it as well. I was surprised at that since older fantasy books seem to insulate their protagonists from mental (if not physical) harm. This is trend I am enjoying reading!
On a happy note, I realized that I actually like sci-fi this year! Previous years I’ve resented those squares a lot. I’ve had a few duds but more overall great sci-fi reads that I wouldn’t have picked up without bingo encouragement. Only took 3 years of bingo for my tastes to change!
Now it’s time to take it easy until April 1. See you all for the next bingo round! (And yes, I submitted my cards in the official thread).
Have you read any of these books?
Did you feel the same?
Any that you want to read?

2023.03.28 14:50 sirherg1 Battling Long Covid, Hoping To Find Some Support And Someone To relate (~5 months in) 27M
To start off, I'm actually not 100% sure that I have long covid, as I have not been "officially" diagnosed, but I've been reading posts on this sub a lot and take comfort in reading other's experiences that are extremely similar to my own. This is my story, and if you can relate to me then I would love to read about it and learn some new stuff. I'm also looking for some colloquial affirmation that what I do have is indeed long covid.
The start of Sept 2022 I contracted Covid 19 for the second time. The first time was about a year prior and was absolutely brutal, however the symptoms hit like a truck, and I had felt like I was dying for about a day and a half when all of a sudden covid had left my body and I was symptomless in a matter of minutes (weird experience for sure). The second time I got covid, the symptoms were much more cold-like and not severe at all so I brushed it off as nothing at all.
About 2 months later in the start of November I was laying down watching TV (had drank a moderate amount that night) and started feeling my heart skipping beats. I never felt this sensation before but I would later come to learn that these were PVCs. After about an hour of having PVCs, a sudden sensation hit me where I had lost feeling in both my arms and hands, got incredibly dizzy, experienced chest and heart pain, and started blacking out. I had never experienced this before so I called up my nurse friend and he told me to head to the ER. After my first trip to the ER, like countless others in this sub, I got my EKG, chest x-ray, and blood tests done and had passed with flying colors, to which the doctors told me that I was "exceptionally healthy" and was just experiencing a panic attack.
I'm not anxious and am lucky to work fewer hours at home as a programmer, so this surprised me. I really do not consider my job to be difficult or stressful at all, and I to try to stay healthy by eating well and at the time regularly did rock climbing. The only unhealthy aspect of my lifestyle I would say would be my not-so-good relationship with alcohol, but I had never experienced health issues related to this point.
I took the advice seriously and tried to limit stress and cut out the alcohol. These heart palpitations would continue every single day in the form of PVCs, chest and heart pain (sharp, dull, and radiating), random sensations of numbness, and shortness of breath, up until the middle of december when they would stop completely all of a sudden.
At the time my flare ups would feel like constant PVCs for a couple of hours, which were associated with some random sort of chest pain, fatigue (which would go away once the flare up ended), coughing (each time I had a PVC), shortness of breath and inability to exert energy, and occasional numbness in the arms.
After mid December when my symptoms completely stopped I assumed that I was healed, and went on with my life. When new years came I had decided it was time to open up some drinks and indulged myself. About a week after this my symptoms came back and I would describe them as much much worse than the first time. When I had flare ups, they would last longer, palpitate harder, and cause much more fatigue.
After two weeks of flare-ups, I developed the worst symptom. I developed a sort of postural heart palpitation, where my heart would pound so hard as if it was pounding out of my chest. This pounding is mostly relieved when I sit upright at a 90 degree angle, however if I lean forward or lay down then my heart would pound so hard and eventually create a deeply unpleasant chest pain. This feeling sometimes is relieved by changing positions, but most nights it will persist the whole night and will not be made better no matter what position I laid in whether it be my back or both sides. When I got this it made it incredibly hard to sleep and I had spent a whole week where I had maybe slept an average of 1 to 2 hours of sleep a night.
This continued and did not seem to stop so I decided to visit some doctors. It was also at this point when I took my symptoms seriously as it was impacting my life and discovered this reddit where I made the connection that I could be experiencing Long Covid. Up until now I had not made that connection and assumed I must have a lot of anxiety (which did not make sense to me as mentioned earlier). Just like what everyone else on this sub says, I had done several more tests and both doctors had said that I was very healthy and had nothing wrong with my cardiac system at all. One of the doctors also pressed on me for doing drugs, however I have never consumed any substances in my life. The doctor had a hard time believing that... I was simply written off as anxious and told to try and work less (which is funny given that I already don't work as hard or long as most people).
One small thing that I had learned was that my blood tests at this time revealed that I have high cholesterol which is very strange given my age, and had even somewhat surprised the doctor. I read somewhere online that long covid can cause high cholesterol so if any of you experienced that too I would absolutely love to know.
After a month and a half of living with this, I decided that I had enough of being ridiculed by doctors. I really deeply found something wrong with the American healthcare system, and how countless people on this sub sink well over 10k USD in hospital bills only to be told "it's all in your head", and had an opportunity come up where I could go to Taiwan (rated best healthcare in the world over 3 years in a row) to get my heart checked there. So I departed March 1st.
Upon arriving, I noticed that my symptoms had once again disappeared, with the exception of my postural heart palpitations (heart pounding sensation at night), however even that symptom was happening less and less and would often go away within an hour of rest. I started to wonder if this issue had something to do with the food I was consuming, or if being in another country and knowing I would get taken a look at relieved stress, but needless to say I was feeling great. About 2 weeks into my time here, I decided to once more try and pick up drinking, to which I had immediately gotten all of my symptoms back overnight. I am not sure if drinking causes these palpitations, but at this rate I don't think I will ever drink again because I will drink for only one or two nights and have to suffer for months, and doesn't seem like a fair trade at all.
Regarding my hospital visit, I was actually diagnosed today with something, and was found to have "Stage 1 Mitral valve prolapse with trivial MR" which is something that should be benign and a condition I am born with.
I'm still unsure what that means and how that fits into all of my symptoms. I don't know if that could be the sole cause of my symptoms, or if Covid had found that weakness in my body and attacked it, or if this is all long covid and an unrelated diagnosis.
So here I am wondering if anyone else has a similar story to me and can share with me how to deal with it.
TLDR I've been suffering symptoms listed below since last November. I've had some moments where I felt completely healed which would last about 2-3 weeks, but other than that am suffering on a daily basis. I've noticed drinking alcohol is a consistent factor which starts my symptoms, however I would only drink once or twice and suffer symptoms for months after. All tests came out negative and doctors attribute it to anxiety, though I'm not an anxious person at all. Last doctor diagnosed me with a benign mitral valve prolapse.
Complete list of symptoms:
- Heart palpitations
- Heart beating in distinct places around the heart off-beat to the pulse
- Flare ups (last about a couple hours)
- PVC beats that last throughout flareups
- Chest pain (dull, sharp)
- Occasional numbness in arms
- Fatigue and shortness of breath (during flareups)
- Constant and persistent postural heart pounding when not upright
- Increased frequency of urination and inability to hold
- Onset of high cholesterol

2023.03.28 14:40 dreftzg [Daily News] Watches And Wonders, Day 2. Chrono JLC Reverso, Stunning Patek Enamel Dial, Retrograde Spreads Through The Vacheron Line and Oris Creates a Real Kermit
It's Tuesday and the second day of Watches and Wonders. Most of the reveals took place yesterday, some after I posted and some just didn't fit in the post. So here we go, a roundup of everything that's happening at Watches and Wonders, a bit shorter, but with more watches.
Also, thank you everyone for the reactions to yesterday's post. A couple of huge rewards and all the comments were amazing! Hope you enjoy today's roundup:
Jaeger-LeCoultre Introduces the Reverso Tribute Chronograph, the Duoface Tourbillon and Colors For the Reverso Small Seconds - Reverso Tribute Chronograph. That says it all, pretty much. Jaeger-LeCoultre has announced a Reverso chronograph in the 1930s-themed aesthetic of their beloved "Tribute" models. It comes in stainless steel and rose gold. Both versions have the same dimensions - 49.4 (lug to lug), 29.9 wide, and 11.14mm thick - with, you guessed it, two faces. One side is a classic time-only dial, while the reverso side is a skeletonized dial with a large chronograph seconds measure and a 30-minute retrograde indication. The skeleton dial comes in handy to see the brand new movement, the JLC 860, which is manually wound and supports a power reserve of 52 hours. Pricing for the Reverso Tribute Chronograph starts at $21,400 in steel and $37,400 in pink gold.
- JLC also updates it’s classic Tribute models with new Small Seconds models with vintage colors. The watches feature faceted dauphine hands, colored dials, applied bar indexes, and a small seconds display at 6:00. The difference between existing models is the new pink gold, ultra slim case which has decreased by a full millimeter in thickness from its stainless steel predecessor. Unfortunately the updated steel model remans 8.5mm. There are two colors you can choose from - a mirror effect black lacquer dial (an homage to the black dials of the original 1931 Reverso) and a burgundy lacquer dial. Both are paired with straps from Argentinian heritage brand Casa Fagliano in complementary colors. The third pink gold case dial variant comes in sunray-brushed silver foil and is paired with another Fagliano Collection strap and an additional black alligator strap from JLC. The final addition: a silver opaline dial with black nickel finished hands and indexes for the steel Tribute case. Price: $9,600 (steel) and $21,900 (pink gold)
- Paying homage to the first tourbillon they introduced thirty years ago, Jaeger-LeCoultre showed off its beautiful Reverso Tribute Duoface Tourbillon in 18k pink gold. The watch uses the Calibre 847 and features two different dials - a clean and elegant one with a time function and tourbillon on a silver sunburst dial, and the reverse with miniaturized black dial showing a second time zone and a day-night indicator. The black dial features partial skeletonisation, including hand angling of the bridges, done by JLC's Manufacture's Métiers Rares workshop. And you will pay for the manual labor. $139,000.
- Their releases covered sports, elegance and high horology. The last thing JLC showed was a little bit of bling with the Reverso One Precious Colors, two new models that harness the brand’s in-house Métiers Rares atelier to create two colorfully enameled and gem-set creations. The case is crafted from gold (white gold for the green colorway and pink gold for the blue colorway), but the enameling work and gem-setting steal the show. Go check it out on the linked website, as the process of creating these unique watches really is fantastic. Prices for the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso One Precious Colors have yet to be released, but both will be available with limited production.
Patek Philippe Introduces The 5178G-012, A Stunning Minute Repeater With a Flinqué Enamel Dial - After unveiling new Aquanaut models, a very sporty Calatrava, a Calatrava with a 24-hour display and their first pilot-style Travel Time Chronograph, Patek dropped a big one - a Grand Complication. The Patek Philippe 5178G-012 sports a hypnotic guilloché pattern which has been done by hand (unlike the stamped one they put on a $40.000 Calatrava). The dial plate is made of white gold just like the case and then covered with blue Grand Feu enamel. The calibre R 27 PS can be seen through the sapphire caseback, with a large 22k golden micro-rotor for automatic winding and two lengthy gongs for a loud and clear minute repeater complication. Price on request.
Vacheron Constantin Introduces Three New Retrograde Models In The Traditionelle, Overseas, And Patrimony Collections, As Well As New Sizes - For the first time, Vacheron is introducing its signature retrograde date display into the Overseas line, taking an old-school complication and bumping up the sportiness. The in-house Calibre 2460 R31L/2 features a retrograde date (moving clockwise across the top half of the dial before jumping back to the first day of the month after 31 or whenever you set it) and a hyper-accurate moon phase accurate to 122 years before needing a one-day correction. These displays are reflected in a blue lacquered dial with a velvet-finished flange and sunburst satin-brushed center. You'll also notice the "age of the moon" indicator above the moonphase aperture on the dial, showing where the moon sits in its 29 days, 12 hours, and 45-minute cycle orbiting the earth. Price is on request.
- The retrograde date will also be included in the Vacheron Constantin’s Traditionnelle family of watches with the Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Tourbillon Retrograde Date Openface. The watch has a 41mm pink gold case that is 11.07mm thick. Its round shape is emphasized by particularly long lugs, which, in combination with the dial, makes for a contemporary blend of styles. Parts of the dial are skeletonized and the upper half of the dial features the retrograde date display with its blackened hand with a white tip. The lower half features the Maltese Cross tourbillon that integrates very nicely without overpowering the other elements. No word on price yet.
- Then there’s the Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Retrograde Day-Date, a beautiful 42.5mm platinum case with a stunning salmon-colored dial. The dial features a nice sunburst finish, bringing life to the already impressive color. In this piece, the retrograde displays of the day on the lower half and the date on the upper half take center stage. Price is also unknown at the moment.
- The regular Overseas gets a slight refresh, as well. Until today, the line has been available in 41mm and 37mm options only, but Vacheron Constantin clearly saw enough demand for a smaller proposition, resulting in the release of the Overseas self-winding 35mm. The four references are split across two metals, available in stainless steel of 18k 5N pink gold, with the metals extending to the accompanying bracelets. Snazzing them up a little, the Maltese cross-inspired bezels of the diamond-set models are graced with 90 round-cut diamonds, guaranteeing a minimum of 0.86 carats Vacheron is tight lipped on the pricing of all of their models.
Chopard Shows Off The Ultra-Thin, Salmon Dial Chopard Alpine Eagle 41 XPS, the Alpine Eagle Cadence 8HF in Titanium, the L.U.C 1860 In Steel And A Crazy Imperiale High Jewellery Watch - The Chopard Alpine Eagle is the family-owned brand's twist on the integrated bracelet sports watch, most popular in blue and then later green. Chopard now upgrades both the case and dial. Chopard has taken the AE and gone the ultra-thin route, creating a watch that is now just 8mm in thickness (the OG is 9.7mmm thick for comparison). In so doing, it has also adjusted the dial layout, forgoing a center seconds display in favor of small seconds – and, along the way, getting rid of the controversial date window. The salmon dial color, officially called "Monte Rosa Pink," contrasts against the lume-filled, distinctive, applied Roman numeral markings. This watch is not limited and will join the existing Alpine Eagle collection at It is a price of EUR 24,400.
- Another addition to the Alpine Eagle family is the introduction of the high frequency new titanium Alpine Eagle Cadence 8HFthat features a "pitch black" colored dial.
- There’s an addition to the L.U.C. Collection, as well with the new L.U.C. 1860 in a Lucent Steel case and solid-gold guilloché dial. It’s a classy thing at 36.5mm, with a salmon dial with a hand-guillochéd radiating pattern. It’s priced at $23,200.
- The Chopard IMPERIALE is a range of feminine watches typified by floral motifs and elaborate material decoration, however this new limited edition for Watches & Wonders is perhaps their most ambitious and glamorous display yet. For the latest Chopard IMPERIALE, the lotus flower has been revisited as the underlying theme of both the decorations and complications. The lotus is celebrated across many cultures and has a long list of significant associations, but this particular homage follows an Egyptian legend where the sun rises once the petals have opened at dawn before setting as the flower closes in darkness. You can see how the lotus has been represented with resplendent 18k rose gold, engraved delicately to show the texture of the petals. The top half of the flower has been skeletonised to reveal the dial underneath, which is actually a fully-revolving day/night indicator.
The New Oris ProPilot Altimeter Is Back Thinner Than Ever, And An Official Kermit Watch - The deeply cool Oris ProPilot Altimeter is back, thinner and with a higher operating ceiling (up to 6,000 meters). It’s still a big boy at 47mm wide, but now 16mm thick. Yeah, it’s not thin, but it’s an improvement. The case is made of carbon fiber with a titanium bezel The Oris ProPilot Altimeter will be available starting in March of 2023 with a retail price of CHF 6,200 and buyers will be able to pick from two references, one that displays altitude in meters, or one in feet.
- The Rolex Kermit is no longer the only kermit watch. Oris has partnered up with Disney's The Muppets for a new ProPilot X Calibre 400 "Kermit Edition." Titanium case, titanium bracelet, in-house movement. And Kermit the Frog pops up once a month in place of the numeral "1" at the 6 o’clock date window. Priced at CHF 4,400, this just might be the deal of Watches & Wonders.
Parmigiani Fleurier Flys Under The Radar With A Slew Of Very Interesting New Watches - Everybody was excited about what the big brands were showing at Watches & Wonders. A lot of people were disappointed as the majority of changes were introductions of new sizes and colors to watches that have been around for years. So they turned to smaller watchmakers. Like Parmigiani Fleurier, who knocked it out of the park with their offering. First up is the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Minute Rattrapante, which offers a similar design to last year’s GMT model, but reimagines the collection’s rattrapante mechanism to be a highly innovative feature for measuring elapsed time. Not only is the way the watch displays time innovative (go read the article, it just doesn’t fit here), it could be a great deal. That’s a funny thing to say about a watch that costs $30,600, but considering the materials (steel, platinum, gold…) and the tech in the in-house movement, it could be a steal.
- As mentioned, the Tonda PF Minute Rattrapante is very similar to the GMT and to differentiate them a bit, Parmigiani Fleurier gave it a very fancy update. The dial colour remains unchanged – that deep Milano blue featuring a guilloché main grain d’orge pattern, uninterrupted by unnecessary indices or logos, but the case gets an 18k rose gold update. This has a more substantial price of €57,630.
- Since Parmigiani Fleurier’s change of ownership and introduction of the Tonda PF range in 2021, the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Micro-Rotor has been a distilled representation of the brand’s DNA. It began with a subtle flex in stainless steel and a platinum bezel, then evolved into a soft rose gold edition, but now it embraces the power of platinum’s luxurious heft in a “stealth wealth” package. You will need wealth, as it will cost you CHF 85,000.
- Parmigiani Fleurier also updated their trio of calendar watches, those that famously tracked three different calendars - the most complete version of a constantly varying chinese Xiali calendar, an evolution of their 2011 islamic Hijri calendar table clock, now housed in a wristwatch, and finally, a watchmaking classic in a Gregorian Annual calendar.
- Lastly, there’s the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Flying Tourbillon, now with a Milano blue dial
Hublot Announces A LOT Of Watches. No, Really… 17 New Pieces - Hating Hublot online has become a bit of a meme. But a meme that never gets old. I tried and tried, I just can’t get myself to care about Hublot watches. But, in the interest of journalistic integrity, I’ll run through all the thing they announced at Watches & Wonders. Hublot has partnered up with artist Takashi Murakami to create a series of watches that you can only own if you buy an NFT. Of course Hublot would release an NFT. They first came out with 13 watches, now they announce the other 12 models.
- Last year, as part of its novelties for 2022, Hublot unveiled the Square Bang collection, which takes the core aesthetic of its flagship Big Bang series and transforms it into a model with a square-shaped case. Now the Hublot Square Bang Unico Sapphire brings a full transparent sapphire case to the line.
- There’s also a new Square Bang in black ceramic.
- They have also upped the ante on exotic materials with a full carbon integrated bracelet for the new Hublot Big Bang Integrated Tourbillon Full Carbon priced at CHF120,000.
- Then there are the supremely awkward Hublot MP-13 Tourbillon Bi-Axis Retrograde and the Hublot Classic Fusion Chronograph Orlinski which comes in a subtle microblasted titanium case.
Beloved Independent Czapek Introduces A Skeleton Antarctique Révélation - Dubbed Révélation, the latest addition to the Czapek Antarctique collection is a skeletonised beauty – more contemporary and technical than its predecessors but also more focused on classical horology. The independent watchmaker has stripped down its luxury sports watch to display its inner workings, an opportunity to show off the beauty of its micro-rotor calibre. It comes in a 40.5mm case version, fitted with a distinctive integrated steel bracelet with its C-shaped polished centre link. The price is set at CHF 38,000
The New Ulysse Nardin Freak ONE Adds Boost To The Brand’s Futurist Mission - Ulysse Nardin has been making the Freak for 22 years and has been polarizing the watch community just as long. I’m in the “don’t like it” camp, but there’s no denying the amount of technical innovation that’s crammed in this watch, as well as the glimpse of the future for UN. They just won’t be in my consideration when I will be buying a €69,600 watch.
Frederique Constant Offers An Apology With A Real Tourbillon - In 2022, Frederique Constant introduced an open-dial Classics Heart Beat Manufacture and it was met with outrage. The exposed balance wheel at 6 o’clock, however well executed, was a cheap trick mimicking the appearance of a tourbillon. Now FC is offering an apology with the Classics Tourbillon Manufacture, a very classy watch with a real tourbillon, but without the high-end tourbillon price. The new FC in a 18k rose gold case will set you back $24,595. Which, considering the other things we have seen at W&W is a deal.
Laurent Ferrier Introduces The Classic And Square Micro-Rotor Watches In Evergreen - It’s now really official - green is the dial color of the year. Choices here are binary: choose either the 40mm round Classic case in 18kt red gold or the slightly more modern Square steel case measuring 41mm. Each features a 3 o’clock crown and a big, bright sapphire caseback that makes for great entertainment when viewing the highly decorated movement The Laurent Ferrier Square and Classic Micro-Rotor Evergreen are available now for 47,500 CHF and 57,500 CHF
F.P. Journe Delivers Biggest Joke Watch Of Watches & Wonders - I’m not trying to denigrate F.P. Journe with this title. I think that their F.F.C. watch is actually very funny, along with being perhaps the most inventive watch of the year. Just look at it. The watch is just a fist with fingers that count out the hours. Is that not brilliant?
Kudoke Introduces the Kudoke 3 - German independent Kudoke has carved out its own niche with a distinctive blend of English-inspired movements and Germanic attention-to-detail in its Handwerk line of watches. The latest addition to the line is the Kudoke 3, which largely sticks to the successful formula of prior models, but offers a twist in the form of a split-level dial and triple-scale hour display.
The Hamilton Wandering Earth II Is A Limited And Off-The-Wall Chinese Movie Tie-In With A More Tame Version For The Rest Of Us - This is a watch was not introduced at Watches&Wonders, but announced right before it, so I decided to include it here. Hamilton has great ties with the movie industry, popping up all over the place - most notably as one of the major plot devices in Nolan’s Interstellar. Most recently, Hamilton has worked with the Chinese production of the sequel to their hyper successful sci fi hit Wandering Earth, and the watch Brand is putting out two special edition models for fans of the movie. The first is a transparent plastic-cased regulator style piece, making an appearance in the movie itself. Powered by Hamilton’s H-12 calibre, a development of the ETA 2825-2, its black and white dial variants will be produced in very limited numbers of only 122 per colorway. However, this watch will be available only in mainland China.
- For the rest of us, Hamilton modified their Jazzmaster Thinline and gave it the same Solar System-inspired dial relief that can be found on the resin-cased piece. The watch comes with a black or white dial, with bright red hands. The case is 40mm and only 7mm thick. To get this thin at such a low price don’t expect a mechanical movement - it’s powered by the ETA 980.163, a quartz movement with a height of only 2.2mm. The special edition will be available from March 2023 worldwide at CHF 635 without tax.
The Louis Erard Excellence Marqueterie Is Likely Your Cheapest Way To A Handmade Marquetry Dial, If You Can Get It - Another piece announced over the weekend before W&W. Louis Erard has quickly become known for its democratising approach to offering traditional métiers d’art to a broader public. That’s why nobody gasped in surprise that their latest model features an exquisite handmade dial using wood marquetry to depict an abstract cubist pattern. Handmade by artisan Bastien Chevalier, the 99 limited edition Excellence Marqueterie comes under EUR 4,000. The case is 42mm, 12.5mm thick and it’s powered by a Sellita SW261-1 automatic calibre with its customised Louis Erard rotor, but that’s less important in this watch - the chequerboard dial is completely hand made and each colour is sourced from a different kind of wood – the three shades of blue are applied to tulip tree wood, while the grey-stained areas are made of willow burl. Each cut has to be precise to a tenth of a millimetre to ensure composition without gaps. When you put so much work into the dial, of course there are no numerals on it and time is indicated by the signature blued fir tree hands of Louis Erard. The watch is limited to 99 pieces and retails for CHF 3,900 (excl. tax). At the time of writing they are still some for sale, so go and buy this now as it will the cheapest way you can get such a dial.
De Bethune are releasing its 31st in-house calibre in the DB Eight Chronograph Monopusher At An Eyewatering Price - The first watch of De Bethune, the DB1, was a classic two-register chronograph with a mono pusher architecture. And following this tradition, the brand is now releasing DB Eight, a watch that pays tribute to the very elegant watch but, of course, with a twist. The 42.4mm case is made of polished titanium with ogive-shaped lugs and a very thin profile of 9.2mm, while the dial has Breguet numerals, blued hands and two different hand-guilloche patterns. Here comes the twist, with the unusual display for the chronograph function. The DB Eight appears first as a time-only watch with two seconds hand. But it’s not. Hours and minutes are in the center, and the rest is devoted to the Chrono, with a central seconds and a 60-minute sub-dial. The chronograph is actuated by the crown, which serves for winding, adjusting and starting the chrono. Inside the case is the hand-wound, in-house calibre DB3000. The brand’s 31st movement and a new development, it’s also the 4th monopusher chronograph conceived by Denis Flageollet, following the DB1, DB8 and Maxichrono. Price is set at CHF 85,000.
The Byrne GyroDial Zero Is Very Funky, Very 70s. Very Futuristic And Very Cool - Not a W&W release, but very cool. Numerals on a dial are a thing of personal preference. Some like Roman, others Arabic. I prefer just markers. But what if you like all three but want to wear just one watch? Then get the Gyrodial, a watch from the new brand Byrne, where the markers rotate every 24 hours to change their apperance. To change its face on a daily basis, the Byrne GyroDial features cubes at 3, 6, 9 and 12 displaying digits or markers, each making a jump every day (at midnight or midday, depending on how you’ve set your watch) or on-demand via the crown. The latest version of the Byrne GyroDial, the Zero, no longer features a dial and exposes the magic tricks of its mechanism. With its monochromatic look, the Gyrodial feels more modern, industrial, and technical. The Byrne GyroDial relies on the automatic calibre 5555, developed and assembled with Le Temps Manufacture, a movement maker based in Fleurier, which works behind the scene for some of the greatest names in the industry. The watch comes in the brand’s distinctive case. Its cushion shape is enhanced by taut lines, a curved profile and a round bezel opening. Measuring 41.7mm in diameter, it is made out of grade 5 titanium with a mix of brushed and polished surfaces. The Byrne GyroDial Zero comes in two versions: Rhodium Silver or Black Rhodium, on a leather or rubber strap. The price is set at EUR 17,500.

2023.03.28 14:33 Future_Zone W5D3 Complete, Kidney Stones, Cramps, Cold, Rain and Snow
I'm re-re-doing C25k, it's my third time over. I completed it back in 2012, and restarted last summer. I made it all the way to Week 8, and got tendonitis in my ankle, so I had to take a break for a couple months, and started again on week 3. I ended up stopping at Halloween on Week 4, and was sick for most of November.
I started again this February from scratch. So far I've ran in snow, rain, and wind. With the crazy fluctuations, I've had days with wind chills close to 10°F, and some close to 60°F so far. My biggest problem has been dealing with kidney stones. Some days I have plans to run, and I just have to pass on running.
I was doing well until week 5, W5D1, I had to abort halfway through from cramps, and the first attempt at W5D3, I had to do the same. This time I did extra stretches to try to make sure I was loose, and I still had a little cramp start to develop, but it went away.
So far this has been the hardest time of C25k, my lung capacity seems to be suffering. I'm not sure if it is long covid symptoms or what, but I'm slowly getting there.

2023.03.28 14:30 ApartProcedure6738 What I learned from my 7 day (You can’t do without community)
I am officially 12 hours from my first ever 7 day fasting and it was BRUTAL and GLORIOUS at the same damn time!
<<< intro>>>>
I been attempting to do an extended fasting since 2021, I could never it make passed 2 days until the end of 2022, when I made it to 96 hours.
Last month I made it to 114 hours and now I’m just about at the finish line.
I’m 5’9 and weigh about 167 at 22.9% body fat a lot of people think I’m dumb to fast but I suffer from severe chronic pain, ibs, and nerve pain from injuries and getting Covid twice.
I have had never pain for 5 years! I’m 30 btw. I decided a month ago I’m done taking meds and will focus on healing myself. My chronic pain isn’t 100 percent cured but I’m so much better!
What I learned:
1) In order to do an extended fast you need to start small. I started at 8 hours and then I progressively moved up.
2) You need community to rally behind you. I got my holistic doctors, my mom, my bestfriend, and various groups online and here
3) Stay distracted/active not too much exercise but light
4) Stay by the toilet lol you may poop on yourself or pee
5) You will have high energy and low energy
6) Hot tea saved me for when I thought about quitting
7) You will hit a wall! Keep going
8) Day 3-5 wtf!!!!!!!!
9) Read and watch inspirational fasting videos and the science behind fasting
10) Journal. Get your frustrations out
11) Call someone when you feel really really bad
12) Electrolytes
13) Refeed slowly and mindfully
14) Post fast is so important for maintaining for weight loss
15) Game plan + mindset
16) The benefits of extended fasting succeeds weight loss
Good luck everyone and cheers!!!!!!!!!
My first 6 attempts of long term fasting I quit but this time I didn’t 😊😊😊

2023.03.28 14:28 Standard_Birthday_33 A Score Tied?
2023.03.28 14:25 Klejne88 I recently pulled Bast and...She's the Best
| I saw a thread here yesterday, with a offshoot comment thread about Bast and her being a potential sleeper hit, and after spending 24 hours with a (probably) urefined deck, i think theres something to it. (Not pool three complete, halfway). Disclaimers: I'm scrubbing around Platinum and there's every chance the zooish nature of the deck isn't gonna cut it, but so far i've zoomed from a very static rank 52 to rank 57 with a lot of 4-cubers in quick succession. I'm not a big snapper, so its possible there could have been more cubes, but the gist is the opponents thought they'd won, and were wrong. Also it is very fun to play so far. Overall deck composition: I basically looked for cards with less than 3 power, with a few 3+ cards to round it out. The deck plays a lot of cards, so Warlock has been doing a lot of work, especially when he is a 3 power. Its not possible to have have Bast reduce Chávez, unless you draw your entire deck and haven't played Bast. I haven't had it happen, but i have drawn the entire deck several times. Card by Card: - Bast - Irreplacable. Makes 9 of the 11 other cards in the deck stronger. 4/11 (36%) chance to be in your hand on turn one (barring a funky location). Note that Bast will rarely hit more than 3 other cards, so you can wait with the play, though obviously you'd rather have her out ASAP.
- Hood - Goes from -2 to 3 with Bast, for a total of 9 power for 2 mana over two cards. If you're suspecting Killmonger it can be a decent play to wait as long as possible to play Demon. Un-Basted Hood is a fine Killmonger detriment.
- Ant-Man - 1 power to 3, for a total of 6 in a stacked lane. Your lanes are gonna be stacked.
- Iceman - 2 power to 3. A rare non-bast proactive play in the deck. I like disruption, even if Iceman always
is gonna be a bitch hits better against yourself. - Adam Warlock - 0 power to 3. Warlock can draw so many cards, especially if you get the nut Bast into Warlock turn two play. opponents tend to ignore or overcommit, at their peril. Sometimes he stays in hand at 0 power while you prioritize other plays.
- Angela - 0 power to 2. You're playing a lot of cards. Angela likes that.
- Mister Sinister - Bast Makes him 3, for at total of 6 power. Makes Ant-man easiser to proc, as well as Wolfsbane. Avoid Angela Lane if possible.
- Ironheart - 0 to 3 power for a staggering 9 power for 3 mana. Good on her own, gets power into locked lanes. Great card.
- Bishop - A tall card for a deck made of many smaller cards. Bast-Angela-Bishop can trick opponents, since you're not really doing a lot at first. Bishop has the same x-factor as Sunspot, and can surprise opponents for 1-power lane wins.
- Wolfsbane - Another tallish card. Your lanes are stacked, She'll do a easy 7 or 9 power (with bast)
- Blue Marvel - Neutral for Bast. Again, you have many cards, juice 'em up.
- America Chavéz - Great card for the deck. Makes it easier to draw Bast, provides tall power at the end should you need it.
1-power card note - Since this deck doesn't run Armor, i've tried to limit onedrops to this. I'm 3-1 against Killmongers so far, since a lot of the decks power comes from the 2+ drops. I won't begrudge you for escaping, but the mental hit is bigger than the power one. Fewer one power cards means no Kazar. Bast is also gonna make him smaller. Locations to avoid: You don't have a way to get into a locked lane. Deaths Domain can be entered with Sinister. Especially bad is the location that makes 1,2,3 drops impossible. Negative power zones are annoying, but Bishop-Chavéz can do work here. Like any other deck you're gonna have high tides and low ones re: locations. Substitutions: As i stated at the start, this is just me Bast-ing the cards i had and thinking afterwards. You might have luck running: Brood - a 3 spot 6 power card turns into a 9 power. Pretty powerful, but i often find my lanes full, so Sinister was chosen instead. Iron Man - As I'm writing this, i'm probably gonna find a place for the Tin man. Bast makes him 6 power with his' ongoing, which is very powerful. A slight worry is his' high cost, which makes Bishop and Angela and Blue Marvel less powerful. Kazar - Its probable a list exist with more one-drops. Oddly many one-drops get the smallest Bast-benefit at 1 extra power. Wasp - 3 power for zero. even at zero power she'll help Angela, Bishop, Ant-Man, Blue Marvel. Sunspot - Good on paper, but this deck rarely floats mana. Luke Cage, Hazmat package: Risky, since you're playing many cards. Wong gets a boost form Bast as well, but probably fun the one times it works. Forge - Good with Sinister, and Bast makes him a 5 power 2-drop. Anyways, just thought i'd do a write-up. Hope you have some fun with it. https://preview.redd.it/0h68eio34hqa1.png?width=1085&format=png&auto=webp&s=75d8f53e52f15893ea6bf9e2dee3a6e4c829e82c submitted by Klejne88 to MarvelSnap [link] [comments] |

2023.03.28 14:24 Crafty-Meeting-9367 Quick and simple Guide about how to escape the Soul Trap: NO BS
Straight to the point:
1- DO NOT GO THROUGH THE WHITE LIGHT/ WHITE TUNNEL/ HUG YOUR "RELATIVES". In the first moments of your death, don't talk to anyone. Recompose yourself before, you will be tired, confused, and have just suffered disincarnation, wait for a few moments, calculate what is happening, observe the scenario, and follow your inner self. Ask "the source" for instructions, but be aware at all times.
2-Learn how to forgive others and practice forgettings petty things.
3- Detach yourself from Anger, Envy, Grudge, Greed, Delusion
4- Positive thinking
5- Be closer to the source creator, the same Archons that keep you trapped in this world of misfortune are also children of the creator and also respond to the same laws of the universe(sooner or later we all pay for what we do). They are not more powerful than you, but they have learned an easy way to steal your energy and keep you trapped in your own illusion.
6-Stop consuming pornography.
7-Be closer to your family and those who you love
8- If you're someone who gets into movies a lot, don't watch horror movies. Do not watch negative films. Some people become very attached to characters or stories in the film and end up attracting obsessive spirits.
9- You will be taken to your vibrational level after death. Don't despair, don't panic, and always remember to maintain posture and inner peace. Ask source for help.
10- Don't live for luxury. Nobody said you can't have the best car of the year or a nice house, but don't let fortune control your life. Do charity, help others.
There are references in the Bible, Allan Kardec’s Spiritism, Buddhism, Hinduism, and other religions that suggest Earth is a prison. It’s important not to ignore all the evidence. And even if you don’t believe in evidence at all, remember that ‘absence of evidence is not evidence of absence’.
As of this post, one of us here will die first, one of us reading this here is next in line, it could be me, it could be you, don't be fooled by the dark perpetrators. Don't follow the light, but be light.

2023.03.28 14:19 livelifereal IPL 2023 Season Preview Part 6: Punjab Kings

Delhi CapitalsChennai Super KingsMumbai IndiansSunrisers HyderabadRoyal Challengers BangalorePunjab KingsRajasthan RoyalsLucknow Super GiantsKolkata Knight RidersGujarat Titans - (These links will be updated as every subsequent part is published) Punjab Kings Owners: KPH Dream Cricket Private Limited Home Grounds:- 1. Yet, in many ways, the 2022 season was better than the previous ones. Goes without saying that finishing 6th among 10 teams is better than finishing 6th among 8 teams. But it was the way Punjab played. They adopted an enthralling "all-guns-blazing" approach with the bat and very often got off to great starts. However, they also frequently found themselves running out of gas with tail-enders left to make the most off the last 3-4 overs. To a great extent, representing a pattern in which the team's performance and the emotions of fans - from the auctions to the end of the league stage - have generally flown over the years. | | | Top Run Getter | Shikhar Dhawan | 460 runs | Top Wicket Taker | Kagiso Rabada | 23 wickets | Preface to 2023 Even if the Punjab Kings asked a genie to grant them a coach who would be the perfect fit for their team, they might not have got a better one than Trevor Bayliss. Having coached a similarly explosive yet adrift England team to World Cup glory in 2019, Bayliss seems to be a tailor-made option for PBKS. In fact, Bayliss was the head coach of the KKR team that ended Punjab's dream run in the 2014 finals. His resumé boasts of another IPL trophy in 2012 as well as Big Bash success with the Sydney Sixers. Furthermore, PBKS were able to rope in the most sought after player at the auctions this year with an all time record shattering bid. And to top it off, they probably have the most likeable bloke as the face and skipper of the team. Yet, despite all these good things, there seems to be an undertone of cynicism among the Punjab Kings' fans. Perhaps because they've seen this a few times now. A new season, a promise and hope of a new beginning, a new captain, a new coach, yet somehow it all ends the same. It's been 8 long years since PBKS last made the playoffs. Will something really change this time around? It's the hope that keeps you hooked. - Jersey/Kit for the season
Punjab Kings have made no change to their jersey. It'd the same old \"red and gold\" for PBKS this year too. Jitesh Sharma sporting the jersey during a shoot. PBKS kick off their campaign with an afternoon home game against KKR on Saturday, April 1st. The teams they play twice are RR, LSG, DC, KKR and MI. Their only matches against GT and RCB will be played at Mohali, while the ones against SRH and CSK will be away fixtures. PBKS play 5 matches at their primary home ground, whilst their last two home games will be hosted at Dharamshala. Punjab Kings' Home Fixtures for IPL 2023 Punjab Kings' away fixtures for IPL 2023 - Expected Conditions at the home ground
Punjab Kings will play their home games across two stadiums this year:- - IS Bindra PCA Stadium, Mohali: There was a time when the pitches at Mohali were considered the fastest in the country. However, in the last decade they seemed to have slowed down and tuned into batting belters. The last ODI played here saw Ashton Turner play a whirlwind knock as Australia chased down 359. In fact, twice in 6 T20Is scores of 200+ have been successfully chased here. In IPL 2019, 4 out of 7 matches saw chasing team gun down a target of 170+.
- HPCA Stadium, Dharamshala: This stadium last hosted an IPL match back in 2013 and recently lost a chance to host an India-Australia Test due to an underprepared outfield. Historically the HPCA Stadium has been a "bowl first" ground. Since it's located at a high altitude, there's usually some assistance in the air for fast/swing bowlers and dew almost invariably pays a visit in the second innings making the chase easier.

Likely First Choice XI: 1. Shikhar Dhawan (c) 2. Prabhsimran Singh 3. Bhanuka Rajapaksa✈️/Mathew Short✈️ 4. Liam Livingstone✈️ 5. Jitesh Sharma (wk) 6. Shahrukh Khan 7. Sam Curran✈️ 8. Rishi Dhawan/Harpreet Brar 9. Rahul Chahar 10. Kagiso Rabada✈️ 11. Arshdeep Singh. IP Options: Raj Bawa, Vidwath Kaverapp, Harpreet Bhatia. ( Note: Impact player cannot be an overseas player if there are already 4 overseas players in the playing XI) (i) Adept All-rounders: A good set of allrounders is a pivotal requirement of a quality T20 side. PBKS struggled in this department throughout 2022. Rishi Dhawan was injured for half the season, Raj Bawa looked unpolished and Odean and Harpreet had lacklustre form. This year they've added Curran and Raza, both of whom have had exceptional years in T20s, to the squad. Their presence coupled with Rishi Dhawan's availability from the offset, makes the side feel much better balanced. (ii) A potent bowling attack: On paper, Punjab Kings' have a formidable T20 bowling line-up. With Rabada, Curran, Arshdeep and Ellis in their team, they're never running out of competent death bowling options. In fact, with some swing on offer, this quartet starts to look ferocious. Add to that the underrated leg spinner Rahul Chahar. An average of 23 combined with an economy of 7.3 over 90 matches tells you that he's a wonderful option in T20 cricket. Their backups aren't shallow either. Vidwath Kaverapp had a breakthrough season this SMAT picking up 18 wickets in 8 matches with an economy of under 7. In the same tournament, Rishi Dhawan and Baltej Singh too were the stand out bowlers for their respective teams. Whereas, Sikander Raza has been in the prime form of his life with both bat and ball. (iii) Finishing Potential and Batting Depth: Throughout the last season, Punjab yearned for a finisher who could take it deep. Often they had their tail-enders scraping through in the last quarter of the innings. While he had impressive cameos, Jitesh Sharma wasn't finishing the games for them. However, he seems to have worked on it. In the SMAT 2022/23, Jitesh scored over 250 runs with a 175-strike rate and importantly stayed not out 6 out of 10 times to guide his team home. Add to that the augmented batting depth that the presence of Curran and others will bring, this now seems to be an area of strength for PBKS. (i) Big-Hitters Problems: It is a little funny how PBKS seem to have covered for what were their weaknesses last year, but their strengths appear compromised. Despite having a ₹12.2 crores remaining in their purse, they did not bid for Bairstow's replacement even when there were doubts about his fitness. To add to their woes, there is an injury cloud over their other big hitter Liam Livingstone, who has been out of action since 4 months and, at the time of this write up, has apparently not joined the team yet. Meanwhile, Bhanuka Rajapaksa has been terribly out of form. In 2023, he's played two T20Is and matches across ILT20, BPL and PSL. However, only once in this calendar year, he's crossed the score of 30. (iii) A chunk of inexperience: The make up of their side means that PBKS will constantly have to feature 3 to 4 uncapped players in their XI. While they have a talented bunch, in the cutthroat pressure that the IPL brings, experience is worth its weight in gold. Hence, the team's chances would depend a lot on how well are youngsters mentored and their capability to handle tough situations. Game Plan: Possible Punts - Besting the batting order
While Rajapaksa is going through a horrid run of form, Livingstone has injury issues. Albeit, the franchise hasn't spoken a word about the big-hitting Englishman missing games, even if he starts for PBKS, rustiness could be a major factor. After all, he has been out of action ever since he jarred his knee in the outfield at Rawalpindi during the first of 3 Tests against Pakistan. This might create a big, gaping hole in that middle order and we might see guys like Jitesh, Curran, Shahrukh and Raza being given promotions in the order. Now, most of these blokes have batted in the lower middle order for the majority of their careers. Playing at 3 or 4 will give them extra opportunities to showcase their skills. It would, however, also be a major responsibility and a move that might define the season for PBKS. - Local Lads in the limelight
As mentioned before, a lot would depend on how much are PBKS able to get out of their uncapped talent. In the major spotlight would be Shahrukh Khan. His numbers over the last two seasons do not justify either: the ₹9crore price tag or the constant chatter about his talent as a finisher. Having scored just 45 runs in 5 innings, his SMAT numbers this year are also anything but inspiring. Another bloke who'd be keen to grab his chances would be Prabhsimran Singh. With an average of 37 and strike rate near 140, he seems like a very abled T20 batter. His reputation enhanced further as he scored four half centuries and averaged 50+ in SMAT 2022/23. He's been with PBKS for 4 years and has only got 6 matches. It's more than likely that he'd play more this season. Similarly Harpreet, Jitesh, Bawa, Baltej and others will have their opportunities cut out. - Captaincy and the optimum use of resources
Before the start of the season, just like every year, Punjab Kings are oozing talent and excitement. They have very potent resources and can beat any side comfortably on their day. Howbeit, a lot will depend on how are these resources managed. How much and in what ways is every player backed? What sort of roles are assigned to them? And most importantly, when the going gets tough, is there someone to put an arm around their shoulder and guide them? At the fulcrum of it all would be Shikhar Dhawan. He has never been an eager captaincy candidate. In fact, his record as a skipper in the IPL reads more losses than wins. But at this stage of his career, with little to prove as batter, we might see a different side of Skipper Shikhar. And that would go a long way in deciding the fate of Punjab Kings in IPL 2023. 2023.03.28 14:17 Planet-Minecraft ABC Studios
| Background In February 2007, Touchstone Television) was renamed to " ABC Television Studio", which was renamed again to " ABC Studios" in May 2007; however from 2007 to 2009, Touchstone Television survived as an in-name-only unit of ABC Studios until the conclusion of the final season of Monk. On August 10, 2020, ABC Studios was folded into ABC Signature. 1st Logo (placeholder logo) (May-September 23, 2007) Logo: On a white background, a black ABC circle (in the 1988-2007 style) iris in on the left with the text " studios" in the same font as the ABC logo, with a shadow effect rises up from the middle of the screen on the right side of the logo. Technique: 2D animation. Music/Sounds: None. Availability: Rare. Appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live, season 2 of Kyle XY, and some ABC summer programs in 2007. 2nd Logo (Start Here) (September 24, 2007-March 18, 2014) https://preview.redd.it/g7cxhvi12hqa1.png?width=534&format=png&auto=webp&s=d4afc5eeac415e36fd9db8999079c93871130294 https://preview.redd.it/afm5dlx12hqa1.png?width=425&format=png&auto=webp&s=4d972416ebaf656f84ecc54b263ab4c1aaa46092 https://preview.redd.it/rwol9gb22hqa1.png?width=397&format=png&auto=webp&s=cc1eef302780229c5aba8819ab1b5daa6b73ba45 Logo: On a white/silver background, we see silhouettes of people working in a studio, carrying ladders, cameras, etc. As one of them strikes a clapperboard, we rapidly zoom past the workers into the lens of a camera, which overtakes the screen. There we see the ABC logo, in 3D with a "glossy" texture, with " studios" next to it, in a dark background with a small blue streak passing by, similar to the "Start Here" graphics from the 2007 fall season. Trivia: - The whole logo appears to be a throwback to the 1962 "An ABC Presentation" camera logo.
- At the beginning of the logo, the numbers 4, 8, 15, and 16 appear on the clapper, then 15 and 16 change to 23 and 42. These are the recurring numbers from Lost. The numbers were also spotted in the September 15-21, 2008 issue of TV Guide Magazine. Plus, you can see the words "WISTERIA LANE" on the bottom of the camera crane, which is a reference to the fictional street from Desperate Housewives. Design-wise, this logo was probably the work of Troika Design Group, who were behind the "Start Here" look.
- If you look closely at the camera as it moves towards the screen, the film roll attached at the top appears to have a Touchstone thunderbolt on it, likely due to the camera equipment not having had its branding updated to reflect the then-new name and logo at the time that segment was recorded. This is more evident in higher quality copies of the logo.
Variants: - Both widescreen and full screen versions exist.
- There was a variant in November 2008 where Bolt (from the Walt Disney Animation Studios movie of the same name) was shown in the camera lens then barks loudly and looks at the camera. This is to promote the aforementioned movie.
- On Ringer, there was a short variant where it simply shows the logo in a dark background with a small blue streak passing by from the left to right. This version is also silent (excluding the pilot). Also, some original airings of Lost used a slightly extended version of that.
Technique: Likely live action combined with lighting effects, followed by CGI as the logo appears. The animation for Bolt in his variant is animated by Walt Disney Animation Studios. Music/Sounds: A bass drum "boom" heard simultaneously with the clapperboard, then an uplifting, 5-note orchestration, mixed with chimes. This was composed by John Debney. The first four notes are from the ABC jingle that been used between 1998 and 2021. Original network airings along with CBS and The CW airings use their generic themes. Music/Sounds Variants: - There is a longer version of the theme that also lacks the chimes.
- The music varied depending on the season for some reason on Castle.
- On season 1 episodes of Castle (excluding the pilot), only the clap sound of the clapper is heard. This is due to an audio mixing error; the music in the left/right channels of the 5.1 soundtrack is missing, and only the clap in the center channel remains.
- On seasons 2 and 3 of Castle, the clap sound plays over the music.
- The clap is omitted on seasons 4 and 5 of Castle.
- On the company's sizzle reel, the music is slightly rearranged with a different clap sound.
- Bolt's bark in his variant can be heard on the last note of the fanfare or the generic theme.
- On The Amazing Race Asia, the last part of the Ugly Betty end credits theme is heard.
Availability: Somewhat uncommon. This logo is no longer used as of September 2013. - It's on just about any show produced by ABC before 2013 (i.e. Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, Scrubs etc.)
- Since the fall of 2009, this does not appear on original ABC broadcasts of their shows, which have it cut out in favor of an in-credit mention for the studio. VOD and home media releases have the logo though.
- However, the logo will still be shown on original ABC airings of shows co-produced with another television studio, like Sony Pictures Television on Happy Endings, or Lionsgate Television on Nashville.
- It can also be seen on Criminal Minds and Ghost Whisperer on CBS, and other ex-Touchstone shows (except for post-2007 episodes of Monk).
- A shorter widescreen version was seen on season 2 of Dirt on FX.
- The version with the music was last seen on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on ABC and Legend of the Seeker in syndication. It still appears on repeats of According to Jim on Laff and Castle in local syndication.
- It plasters the Touchstone Television logo on ABC.com and Hulu prints of Felicity.
- This logo does not show up on the 2012 short-lived series Missing.
- The Bolt variant is extinct and was only seen on airings of shows in November 2008 to promote the film's release.
- This was used as a de-facto home entertainment logo on DVD and Blu-ray releases of ABC shows beginning in 2008, replacing the Buena Vista Home Entertainment logo.

It flashes brightly for a moment, and some of its light morphs into the 2013 ABC logo and the word " studios", now in a different font (set in ABC's custom typeface, ABC Modern), written next to it. The word and logo shine and zoom in. The spotlight continues to move towards the corner, gradually fading out. Variants: - Early Variant: The spotlight and tint on the ABC logo are red.
- There is a variant in which the light and ABC Studios logo simply fade and zoom in.
- An extended variant is used as the home entertainment logo at the beginning of all current DVD/Blu-ray box sets of ABC Studios shows released by Disney.
- For ABC Studios International, it's the still ABC Studios logo on a black background, with the word "international" below "studios".
- On Harrow, it appears in-credit over a blue background.
Technique: CGI from Loyalkaspar. Music/Sounds: A light 6-note synthesized glockenspiel tune, followed by a deep dramatic string note and drum beat, composed by Filip Eisler. For the prototype, it's silent. Music/Sounds Variants: - Sometimes, the music from the previous logo is heard.
- In some cases, only the glockenspiel is heard.
- Starting with Agent Carter, the theme is slightly slowed-down.
- Network airings have a generic theme and a voiceover.
- An extended version of the theme exists.
Availability: Very common. - Appears on all of their shows produced by this company from 2013 until 2020.
- The standard pale yellow version appears on current episodes of ABC shows, such as Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Betrayal.
- The red version appeared on early episodes of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
- Again, not on the actual ABC broadcasts of said shows, which have the in-credit mention.
- Still seen on ABC shows co-produced by another studio, like 20th Century Fox Television on Speechless, Sony Pictures Television on The Good Doctor, or Lionsgate Television on seasons 2-4 of Nashville.
- The ABC Studios International variant appears on Reef Break and Harrow.
- Last known new usage was on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in October 2020. As of October 7, Kimmel is now credited to ABC Signature.
- Like the last logo, this was also used as a de-facto home entertainment logo on ABC DVDs and Blu-rays beginning in 2013.
- It makes a surprise reappearance on Season 2 of Woke, likely because it was produced before the folding to ABC Signature.
4th Logo (September 29, 2013-2020) https://preview.redd.it/eomm0pmc2hqa1.png?width=534&format=png&auto=webp&s=e2fe931982aa0831794e6bcc979904a5e939937f https://preview.redd.it/fehafzxc2hqa1.png?width=534&format=png&auto=webp&s=463fcb4901991dc2459ec7889f510e9bf31a699e https://preview.redd.it/se7cm3dd2hqa1.png?width=534&format=png&auto=webp&s=a21101e9e532c92deb5c4c665b0a39c510b7ba63 Logo: We see the ABC logo (in gray tones) zooming out to the left part of the screen, showing the word " studios" with a flash below (which gradually disappear) on a gray background with a glow. Variants: - A red-colored version with red text exists.
- A yellow-colored version exists, sometimes also still.
- On the company's promos, the word "irresistible tv" appears below "studios".
Technique: Computer animation. Music/Sounds: None. Music/Sounds Variants: - On Amazon Prime prints of Ugly Betty and Grey's Anatomy, a PAL-pitched version of the 3rd logo's theme is used.
- On Hello Ladies, the end theme plays over it.
Availability: Quite rare. - So far seen at the beginning of international prints of ABC shows such as Once Upon a Time, as well as on some international airings of Disney theatrical films such as Ed Wood and Honey I Shrunk the Kids (1989).
- The still version can be seen on Hello Ladies.

2023.03.28 14:16 CancerSurvivor2022 Holy crap! I’ve never been #2 on the major leaderboards! It won’t last but let me enjoy it for a minute🔥🔥 - I guess there is an upside to having sleep issues on these meds🤣🤦🏼♀️🤣
2023.03.28 14:16 Spirited_Activity122 Elemental builds
Elemental builds are pretty cool.I ain't no expert at the game but these builds do pack a punch. Its certainly not the strongest build but it's very fun to use according to me.Elements are an integral mechanic of the game but showered less love cuz they have less practical use. They provide a small buff to dmg against certain enemies but that's pretty much it unless u use specific strategies to utilize them
PREMISE OF THE BUILD:- There are certain attacks in the game which convert the elements u have into damage, the strategy is to get 10 element stacks and use one of these attacks to fire off a strong attack.Lets call these cards elemental attacks for simplicity. These elemental attacks are mostly found as active skills of certain 5 star heroes(like archangel Michael, gemstone dragons..) or are in starting deck of certain jobs(dragonmancer, snowmancer, omnimancer, dragon lord etc..).It is recommended to use starting deck of these jobs for accessing elemental attacks as the active skills have heroes have cool down.
The number of elements u have is shown beside ur AP count
PREFERRED HEROES:- The most important skill which a hero should have to pull of this build is element master(of any element) this skills allows the hero the have more stacks of elements thus enabling stronger attacks. That is the only important skill , it's better to choose heroes who have higher defensive capabilites with element master skill my proffered heroes are:-
1)Archangels-they start the combat with protect
2)Dream slime akashics- great stats with the ability to gain 3 element stacks every turn
3)Death thanatos-immune to many things along with high max hp
4)Titans-damage reduction and reliable health regeneration.
5)Heroes which have immunity to depress are also good as depress reduces healing capabilities which are necessary in this game
You can however use any hero with element master ability(light master if u prefer light element, dark master of u prefer dark element and so on)
My personal recommendation is skeleton dragon dracolich hero as it is immune to depress and bleed, starts with 2 second chances, has a decently low cooldown active skill which consumes all it's dark elements are converts it to dmg and can use its second active skill to inflict Paralysis onto enemies
MAIN JOB:- Starting job must be OMNI FENCER, it has cards to not only gain element stacks but also has an elemental attack right from the start. Its crucial to start with this job. Next replace the omni fencer with DRAGONMANCER mid way through the run, another crucial job for elemental builds.Dragonmancer switch ability gives 3 pure elements and good healing. You can start with the dragon mancer as well but not recommended as there aren't many ways to gain elemental stacks for low AP in dragonmancer starting deck.Dragonmancer switch ability is just the better version of omni fencer
SIDE JOBS:- jobs which buff up damage or provide protect/healing are good. The side job you choose depends on ur playstyle If you want damage go for reincarnated demon lord/hero they give 75% damage bonus for just 1 ability and even higher AP,hand limit
If you want protect or have a hero who gives high protect definitely choose tower as its ability babel helps you to go over the protect limit helping you in difficult conditions.
If you are like me and simply annoyed by effects like paralyze and burn use stand user job which will remove all vulnerabilities and some elemental conditions
If you want sustained healing try out reaper for its life steal or surgeon which is the best healing job in the game
You can use any side job you prefer tho I like to go with tower and stand user for lower floors and reincarnated hero for higher ones
STRATEGY:- start with omnifencer and thin out the deck by removing cards at the shop. Remove all the cards except 4 elemental spirits and 1 elemental strikes and add shuffle(or)quickdraw. Set elemental strike as your starter.
Later when you feel like healing of elemental spirits fell off add omelette or any other healing card to your deck. Replace your omni fencer with dragonborn
Now at the start of combat use the dragon born ability twice giving 6 elements instantly withcthe deck being so thin you are guaranteed to get atleast 3 elemental spirits at the start. This will make 10 stacks of elements considering you already start with some elemental stacks.Fire off elemental strike and end turn. After firing elemental strike you will be left with two elemental stacks, use dragonmancer switch ability twice again and elemental spirits to get back upto 10 and fire off elemental strike again(after it comes to ur deck)
Repeat this process multiple times. The elemental strike converts each stack into 40 percent damage of whatever is ur strongest attribute effectively dealing 400 percent dmg of your highest attribute(strength, agility, intelligence). It important to fire off elemental strikes at 10 stacks of elements as that will trigger a finale which deals extra 150% dmg , making 1 elemental strike deal 550% dmg of your strongest attribute and you can do this atleast once every two turns at max
Those numbers give me a nice dopamine boost :)
PROBLEMS WITH THIS BUILD:-
Paralysis and depress are a huge problem as they practically break the Cycle of gaining elemental stacks.I use stand user ability and hero which is immune to depress to counter this.
It's a slow build and takes time to kill off enemies that's why healing and protecting are of utmost importance.
Damage starts to fall off( this ain't much of a problem of u have a high lvl hero)
NOTE:-Make sure you replace your jobs once every 300 floors to stay on the same level as enemies and not to pick genuine elites aftercu reach 100 floors as its tough. This was written when the game was 2.8 version

2023.03.28 14:12 77putingtupa It’s the little things 💓
First day at my new work kahapon. 4 hours lang tulog ko, putol putol pa kasi I’m very anxious about what will happen.
Tldr: listing all the litol things I’m counting since yesterday. I’m having migraine rn dahil kulang sa tulog hahaha but not enough to ruin it hihi
- Hindi ako late. Sorry na agad na I’m counting this as a win kahit bare minimum sya as an employee but come on have u seen Edsa lately hahaha
- When they issued me my work laptop, they also provided me a tablet, a pencil, and a smart keyboard. It’s such a relief to have the tablet as an alternative when going out sa field kasi tbh ang bigat ng laptop na binigay nila hahaha pwede pang self-defense lol
- There was an event so buffet for lunch!
- During my first 1:1 with my manager, he said we will be meeting soon. This was confusing for me kasi he’s from Taiwan then yun pala our regional team will be meeting a month from now somewhere outside PH. It’s a week-long event and we will be staying in a 5-star hotel. As an anxious traveller and adjusting employee, the best part dun is each of us will have our own hotel rooms. I will be able to poop in peace HAHAHA 🥹
- Kanina, they had another event so it was like fiesta sa office. Banderitas and all. There were booths for employees with small businesses we can support. And we did!
- Since we work on a flexed sched, one of the managers decided to go home at 3pm to avoid the crowd sa mrt. Inaya nya kami lahat sa team umuwi and ituloy na lang daw sa bahay yung work hahahaha. We started our day at 9am. Between 9-3, we took a break twice (breakfast and lunch), and nag-ikot pa sa booths while she also introduced me sa mga friends nya so may kasamang chika pa
- I like how the HR also introduced me to literally EVERY BODY kahit pa sa departments na hindi ko naman makakawork. It was socially draining having to smile and greet every one pero i found it super fun kasi everybody was very welcoming.
- I was never left out. Like kahit wala ako sa room and they would be taking a group photo, they really called me para kasama ako sa pic. It feels weird but it rly warms my heart to feel included kahit Day 1 pa lang 💓
- Talked to HR about my 3-week trip on June which was booked before I was hired. We are on a hybrid setup but I asked if pwede ko i-wfh the entire trip instead. He had no questions asked and told me that I should just inform my manager but there shouldn’t be any problems daw.
- The icing on the cake? Walang traffic pauwi!! This is EDSA-Guada kahapon at 6PM. My usual byahe na 40 minutes was shortened to 20!
These all feel surreal. Since the pandemic, I never had a downtime kahit holidays kasi I would be always thinking about work. I would file leaves, but I would end up working pa din on the side and it affected me mentally and emotionally.
A year ago, I remember breaking down from time to time dahil sa previous work.
A month ago, I found out my SO was cheating on me.
A week ago, I barely slept kasi I was finalizing my handovers sa previous work pa din.
But yesterday, and today, and for the first time in the longest while, I have the genuine peace of mind na I never thought was achievable.
Now, I am keeping my fingers crossed na maging okay pa din lahat and here’s to claiming na i’m on the right path baby I was born this way ems🤞
If u made it this far, thank you for reading. My heart’s bursting lang talaga I had to share hihi
